Winter Escape, April 30th 2010
Registration
Registration form (pdf)
Friday April 30 will be the Naval Centennial Ball at the Canad Inns Polo Park (see attachment).
Saturday I have made plans to have a 4 hour boating license program. As many of us have our ticket already I need to know if this is a viable plan as we should have a minimum of 15 people available. Remember it is mandatory now to have your ticket. This program would be held on Sat May 1st from 10AM til 2:30PM. The cost for the program is $70 per person and include 4 hours upgrade instruction, lunch, exam and license issue. For those not needing to attend we would like to have a boaters forum where LOTW nuances and sailors tips could be shared.
Saturday afternoon is free time for ESCAPEES to unwind, shop and take in the beautiful Forks area.
Saturday's dinner plans will be hosted at Inn at the Forks where we shall have a red wine tasting session before attendees walk over to the Winnipeg Convention Center for the Wine Festival that is celebrating Australia's wines this year.
Sunday morning we are invited to attend The Battle of Atlantic Sunday church service at HMCS Chippawa (see attached). This service provides excellent insight into Naval lore and history. The Naval Museum of HMCS Chippawa will be open for viewing prior to our ESCAPE departure lunch at Chippawa.
Participants are responsible for all meals and accommodations. We are currently planning on Inn at the Forks to be our "ship" for the weekend. I am currently negotiating group rates, more to follow. John and Shawna will purchase tickets for the wine tasting (about $50.00 per person) and the Naval Centennial Ball (about $55.00 per person) on behalf of ESCAPEES so at to avoid a sell out conflict.
Escape registration costs are to be $50.00 per vessel. Guests are welcome as always.
TO ACCOMPLISH BOOKING ALL EVENTS IN A TIMELY FASHION WE REQUIRE CONFIRMATION OF ATTENDANCE BY APRIL 17TH PLEASE.
John's email is john@studiofloors.ca and phone number 204-290-1865.
We would like to thank Bob Siemens for his input and assistance in making this a wonderful Naval experience.
Commodores John and Shawna
